Cake Truffles on a Stick

This Mother's Day we wanted to make something edible and beautiful for our mothers (ALL 6 OF THEM!!) . . . I saw one of these at my sister-n-laws baby shower and HAD to steal the idea!! They're delicious and so much fun.

The recipe:
Bake a cake
Crumble it with a fork
Pour the crumbs into a bowl
Mix with a tub of icing until cake is moist
Roll into balls (golfball size)
Freeze (preferably over 3 hours)
Melt "Candy Melts" in microwave (various colors sold at Michael's and Hobby Lobby)
Roll frozen balls again to make them more compact
Poke cake ball with a skewer/craft stick
Using a spoon cover it with candy melt
Stab into floral foam, so it can harden in an upright position
Transplant into chosen pot (using floral foam)

** So disappointed we didn't get pictures with our Mom's on Allen's side of the family. Evidentially, we got lazy with out camera- been bad about that lately. I apologize!
